Philadelphia, November 3.  On Sunday last, . . . we had a
smart shock of an earthquake here, . . . but happily no
damage ensued. The following Lines were sent us on the
occasion:
Heav'n oft before the fatal bolt is hurl'd, 
Gives timely notice to an erring world;
Some lesser woes are harbingers of great:
O! Sinners! Hear and dread approaching fate!
